Keep the cold bug away

It’s that time of year when colds are being passed around like presents. To help decrease the risk of getting sick, make sure to keep your fluid intake up (aiming for half your body weight in ounces of water) and eat plenty of vegetables, especially the leafy green kind. If you start to feel that sickness creeping up on you, try out some of these homeopathic remedies:

1. A large spoonful of raw honey with 1 small garlic clove minced and mixed in with the honey will soothe a sore throat and fight off the virus.
2. A mug of homemade bone broth will warm your soul, give your body some healing nutrients like collagen and minerals, and can actually help decrease inflammation from an upper respiratory tract infection. If not, you could try my substitution of heating up a mug of organic chicken broth with 1 clove of minced garlic for about 1:30and then stir in 1 tbsp of Great Lakes Gelatin. Sip to your hearts content.
3. A humidifier in your bedroom at night will help keep moisture in the air as we are turning our heat on which causes the air to be very dry. If you’re feeling congested, add some peppermint and eucalyptus oil to your humidifier or a diffuser to help open your nasal passages.
4. Wash your hands often and in the gym spray down everything you use if you are sick!
